We are excited to welcome Alberto De Min as Blykalla's new Vice President of Partnerships.
In this role, Alberto will develop partnerships and collaborations with institutional and commercial stakeholders, while supporting investor relations and providing strategic advisory.
Alberto started his career in academic research in physics in 1990, holding team-leading roles at CERN, Geneva, and professorship positions at the University of Padua, Politecnico di Milano, and EPFL Lausanne, where he taught classical physics, nuclear physics, and statistics for nearly twenty years.
He subsequently transitioned to institutional asset management, working at Strategic Investment Advisors Group and Lombard Odier Investment Managers, where he reached the position of Senior Vice President and Equity Portfolio Manager specialising in energy, clean technology, and infrastructure investments.
In 2014, he founded Preon Capital Partners, a Geneva-based family office focusing on venture capital investing in deep technology, which he managed for ten years. Notable portfolio exits include Supercell, Advanced Accelerator Applications, and Next Games.
Alberto has co-founded several deep-tech startups including SpinX Technologies (2001, microfluidics), APM Technologies (2002, airline management software), and - most relevant to his work at Blykalla - newcleo (2021, nuclear energy). He has served on the boards of multiple technology and asset management companies.
Alberto holds an MSc in particle physics, a PhD in nuclear and sub-nuclear physics, and an MBA in Management and Corporate Finance.
"After more than three decades moving between physics labs, trading floors, and boardrooms, I've learned that the most impactful solutions require both scientific rigor and commercial discipline. At CERN, we proved what's physically possible. In finance, I learned what's economically viable. As a VC, I backed what could scale. Co-founding newcleo taught me the gap between vision and execution in nuclear energy. Joining Blykalla is where all these threads converge: a team with the technical depth to build safe, sustainable SMRs and the pragmatism to make them commercial reality."
We are very pleased to have Alberto on the team as we continue our fast-paced journey toward deployment of next-generation nuclear power. A warm welcome, Alberto!
